About Tara Deal: Tara is originally from University Place, Washington, where she attended Curtis High School. She played fastpitch, volleyball and was a cheerleader. Tara always looked forward to performing in the annual Dance Blast show, where she had the opportunity to choreograph a dance to the song, “The Time of My Life,” from the movie Dirty Dancing. Some of her favorite memories were cheering and dancing among so many talented and motivated women. Tara attended the University of Washington where she was a member of the Alpha Chi Omega sorority. After college, she moved to Newport Beach, California, and attended Whittier Law School where she earned a Juris Doctorate in 2010. Tara then attended Chapman University School of Law and obtained an LL.M., Master of Laws, in Trial Advocacy. After working at the Laguna Beach Police Department post-law school, Tara moved to Bakersfield to follow her dream of becoming a Deputy District Attorney. She currently manages the Auto Insurance Fraud section in the White Collar Unit of the Kern County District Attorney’s Office. She enjoys serving her community by advocating for justice as a prosecutor, promoting rehabilitation as a volunteer for the Pathways program, and assisting with the training of our law enforcement by teaching at the Kern Regional Training Center’s POST Training Academy for the Kern County Sheriff’s Office and the Bakersfield Police Department. Tara enjoys traveling, crafts, event planning, sports (especially traveling to Seattle Seahawks football games), and spending time with friends and family. She is excited to perform in the Dancing at the Stars s and help raise money for Stars Theatre Restaurant.
