About the Show
Carlo Goldoni's quick-witted masterpiece from 1745 is structured around improvisations, miscommunications, mistaken identities, and outright deception. As is originally done in the Italian tradition of Commedia Dell'arte, half of the characters are masked. The CCircle's faithful yet fresh adaptation will leave you roaring with laughter.

The plot revolves around Beatrice returning to Venice, masquerading as her recently deceased brother so that she may inherit what is rightfully hers. Her unwitting servant, Truffaldino, complicates matters when he agrees to also serve Florindo, Beatrice's lover and killer of her brother. Weddings are destroyed and friendships brought to ruin as the hungry Truffaldino seeks to fill his belly.

The cast includes Maya Blackstone as Clarice; Scott Deaton as Dr. Lombardi; Javier Elizondo as Pantalone; Cody Ganger as Brigella; Cory Geursten as Beatrice; Shelbe McClain as Smeraldina; Brett McGlew as Porter/Waiter; Ivan Mendoza as Silvio; Spirit as Florindo; John Spitzer as Truffaldino
