Do you have a little (or a lot) of free time? Do you want to make a meaningful contribution to the arts? Volunteers are a very important part of the day-to-day operations at BMT/Stars. Opportunities (listed below) span from backstage help with sets and costumes, to office duties like mailing and filing.
Volunteers need no experience – training is provided.
- Set Construction: Set construction volunteers work with our technical director and set designer to build sets for upcoming productions. Construction volunteers must wear comfortable and durable clothing and close-toed shoes. Construction experience is preferred, but not required.
- Stagehands: Stagehands are vital to backstage happenings during a show. Stagehand volunteers work with the technical director and stage manager to assist with props, set changes, lighting, etc.
- Costumes: Costume volunteers work with the costume designer to manage costume inventory, set costumes for shows, iron, wash, sew etc.
- Marketing volunteers must be enthusiastic and creative individuals with a flair for advertising and promotion. Volunteers work directly with the marketing coordinator and assist with tasks ranging from graphic design, photo/video, flyer distribution, and more.
